PANTHERS ANNOUNCE COMMITMENT OF SAMUEL POLIQUIN
NORTH BAY, ON – Head Coach Bill Crowdis and the Canadore Panthers Men's Basketball program are pleased to announce the commitment of 6'1" guard Samuel Poliquin from Iroquois Falls, Ontario, for the upcoming season.
Poliquin joins the Panthers after a dominant season in which he averaged 35 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists, and 4 steals per game. A high-impact two-way guard, he has emerged as one of Northern Ontario's top offensive and defensive players.
Poliquin is expected to bring immediate energy, scoring versatility, and defensive intensity to the Panthers lineup.
"I think I'll bring lots of energy, great defense, score on all three levels when needed, and overall just play my role and do what the team needs from me to win," said Poliquin.
On his commitment, Poliquin said Canadore ultimately stood out in his recruitment process.
"I had a few options to consider, but Canadore felt like the right fit," said Poliquin. "The coaching staff, the opportunity to grow, and the culture Coach Crowdis is building really stood out. I'm all in and ready to get to work."
Head Coach Bill Crowdis praised Poliquin's versatility and competitiveness.
"Samuel is an athletic two-way, do-all guard," said Crowdis. "He will be one of the hardest-working players on our roster. He understands the game, makes the right plays, and will be an immediate impact player for our program. He represents Iroquois Falls and the Timmins area with pride."
Poliquin is the first commitment in the Panthers incoming class as the program builds toward the upcoming OCAA season.
